Hollis' first snow day was on January 27th, 2014! The snow started dumping around 11:30 AM- 12:00PM and it didn't let up until dusk! Atlanta became a bumper to bumper traffic jam and unfortunately Ryan was stuck in the mess. It took Ryan 5.5 hours to get home that day! At the time we were so frustrated, but as time went on we felt blessed. MANY people were stuck on the highway for 24 hours, children had to sleep at school, people abandoned theirs cars and walked home in the ice and snow.
I decided to wait on Ryan to get home before taking Hollis out in the snow. While we waited, Hollis started to CRAWL! She was so close for weeks and finally did it! We were playing up in the loft, and she spotted my water cup. Hollis loves drinking out of the straw in my cup, and I guess she was thirsty because she crawled right over and took a sip! I know Ryan was disappointed he missed it, but we FaceTimed him while he was in traffic. When we FaceTimed Ryan, I held the phone back so Hollis could see her Daddy and when she did, she crawled right to the phone! It was a very sweet moment!
Around 5:45 Ryan got home and we all changed into some warm clothes and ran outside before we lost daylight. We snapped a few pictures before the sun set. Hollis was very quiet and mesmerized as she looked around.
The next day, the ground was still covered, so we took Hollis back out and let her sit in the snow. She tried to crawl off the snow sled and onto the snow but didn't quite make it.
Snow is SO BEAUTIFUL! I couldn't help but snap a million pictures of Hollis all bundled up in it.
